In Memoriam Service for Don Win Walling

On Sunday, February 25,
2001, there was a service In Memoriam of
Don Win Walling, late husband of Mrs Tat
Walling, our member, at the Great Hall of our
temple, Chua Hai-Duc.
Upasika Nghiem-Ngoc Nguyen Thi My-Hong presided
the service, with Upasika Chau-Ngoc Le Hoa Nhuy
using the motak, and Upasika Dieu-Ngoc Le Thi
Hong-Thu striking the bell.
Mr
Don Win Walling passed away on Saturday,
February 17, 2001, in Orange Park, Florida.
He is surviving by his wife and his son.
Our president Upasaka Minh-Quang Nguyen Le Duc
read the obituary and gave sympathy to the
family in the name of Northeast Florida Buddhist
Association.
A food service followed the ceremony in our
dining room.

Gia'c Nhie^n, head of the
International Sangha Bikkhsus (Gia'o Ho^.i
Pha^.t Gia'o Ta(ng Gia` Kha^'t Si~ The^' Gio+'i)
has been on visit at our temple on Wednesday
March 7, 2001, during a 2-weeks trip
raising funds in Florida for Ti.nh Xa' Minh Dang
Quang under construction in Tampa.
He was accompanied by two nuns, Bikkhuni
Ti.nh Cho+n, resident nun of TX MDQ in
Tampa, and Bikkhuni Ti.nh Lie^n, disciple
of Ven Thi'ch Minh Tuye^n, and a young male
layperson.
The Most Venerable has given the assemblee a Dharma
Talk at 7 pm the same day, then given out
free gifts, including calendars, books, malas,
cassette and video tapes about his pilgrimage in
India. He also let the assemblee admire
the three sari (xa' lo+.i) of the Buddha along
with some of the Arahats.
He will be back to our temple on Friday March 16
to give us a retreat (Ba't Quan Trai) on
Saturday March 17, 2001, and a Dharma Talk and
service on Sunday March 18, 2001.
