"Bring Me To Life"
by EVANESCENCE
How can you see into my eyes like open doors. Leading you down into my core
where I've become so numb. Without a soul my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold until you find it there and lead
it back home.
(Wake me up. Wake me up inside. I can't wake up. Wake me up inside. Save me. Call
my name and save me from the dark. Wake me up. Bid my blood to run. I can't wake up. Before I come undone.
Save me. Save me from the nothing I've become.)
Now that I know what I'm without you can't just leave me. Breathe
into me and make me real Bring me to life.
::Chorus::LyricsCafe.com::
Bring me to life. I've been living
a lie There's nothing inside. Bring me to life.
Frozen inside without your touch, without your love, darling. Only
you are the life among the dead.
All of this sight I can't believe I couldn't see Kept in the dark but you
were there in front of me
I've been sleeping a 1000 years it seems. I've got to open my eyes to everything.
Without
a thought Without a voice Without a soul
Don't let me die here There must be something wrong. Bring me
to life.
::Chorus::LyricsCafe.com::
Bring me to life. I've been living a lie There's nothing inside.
Bring
me to life
Taker arrived at home around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, after being gone for almost three weeks. "Nora,"
he called out. He didn't receive an answer. "She'll be here soon. Go ahead and drop your bags in the room on the other side
of the stairs," he told Nathan Jones. As Nathan headed to the room, Taker went up to his room. Two minutes later, the door
opened again. "Daddy, are you home?" "Taker makes you call him daddy?" She looked around to see where the voice came from,
then she saw Nathan standing in the doorway to the guest room. "It would only make sense. He's my father." He smiled. "I'm
sorry, love. I thought you were his wife." Nora smiled back. "Sara is away visiting family. I'm Nora." She stuck her hand
out. He shook her hand and said, "I'm Nathan. I'm working with your dad."
"There's my baby girl," Taker said. "Daddy!" As Taker reached the bottom of the stairs, she wrapped
her arms around his neck, and kissed his cheek. "I missed you. But, we didn't think you would be back until next week. That's
why Sara went to her mom's house." "I'll call her later. Why did she leave you here alone?" "Daddy, I'm almost 18. I can take
care of myself." "Ok, ok... The three of us will talk about it later. I see you met Nathan. He's the reason why I'm home early.
Vince wants me to work with him a little, so we'll be out in the backyard." "Ok. While you two are working, can I take Sara's
bike for a ride?" "I don't know..." "Come on. Please? She hasn't been able to ride it since she got pregnant. The bike will
go to hell if it's not ridden." He took a moment to think. "Do you have any homework?" "I did it at school." "Alright, but
don't go out of the neighborhood. Your license doesn't cover motorcycles." "Thank you, daddy!"
As Nora ran out the door, Nathan said to Taker, "nice girl." "Yeah, she's a great kid. We're still
trying to get used to each other. Her mom died almost a year ago. Before that, I didn't even know she existed." "Poor thing."
"That is actually a good thing. She didn't have to see what I was like then." Taker slapped Nathan on the back. "Tell ya what.
I'm gonna go get stuff for dinner. Make yourself at home. We'll work out while I'm grilling." "Alright."
When Nora returned, she expected her dad and Nathan to be working out, or practicing in the backyard.
Instead, she found Nathan in the kitchen, making a sandwich. "I thought you were working out?" "I'm stretching." "Stretching?"
"My stomach, love. A bloke needs to eat." She giggled. "Where's my dad?" "He went to the store. He wanted some steaks to throw
on the barbie."
Nora giggled again. "What's so funny?" "Oh, nothing. I just love your accent." Nathan smiled. "I bet
you like me calling you love, too?" "It's better than some of the other things I've been called." She looked at the extra
large sandwich he made. "Are you going to eat the whole thing?" "Nah. I'll share it with you," he said as he cut it in half.
"I don't think I could fit it in my mouth." "Well, if you can't fit this, how do you expect to fit a man's..." He stopped
when he looked up at her. "Never mind." "I can handle that, but I think the sandwich is bigger." "Then you haven't been with
a man." "Care to show me?" "I don't think your dad would like that much."
Nora looked away from Nathan, and sighed. "It figures. Everyone is afraid to touch me, or even come
near me, because they are afraid of my dad." "Nobody said I was afraid of your dad." She looked up again. "Prove it." He tilted
her head back, and kissed her. When it ended, he said, "I'm not afraid of anyone, love." "A quick kiss doesn't prove much."
He kissed her again, hard and full on the lips. When they heard the front door close, it ended quickly. "I'm not afraid of
him, but I'm not stupid enough to start a fight with him, either."
"Alright, you two. I got steaks, potatoes, and rabbit food." "Rabbit food," Nathan asked. "Lettuce,
tomato... Stuff for a salad. Nora, do you mind getting this stuff ready for the pit, while I crank up the heat?" "Sure thing,
Dad. Let me get out of my school clothes first. I hate this crap they make me wear." "Alright, hurry up." She ran to her bedroom,
and put on a "beater" and a pair of jeans. When she entered the kitchen again, Taker was bent over a pan with his back to
her, and laying the steaks in it. Nathan saw her, and gave her a wide evil-looking grin. She smiled at him, as she walked
up behind her dad. "I thought I was doing that." "Well, you can do the rest, darlin'." "Good, now get out of the kitchen."
He washed his hands. As he walked to the back door, he mumbled, "damn women..." "I heard that."
Two hours later, they were all sitting on the back porch eatting dinner. "So, how long are you two
going to be here," Nora asked. "We'll be here for a week, then we go back on the road." "Oh." "You'll have to get used to
it, Nora. My schedule is hell on everybody," Taker said. "I know. It's just, I had so much fun while you were off." "Well,
we can have some fun this week. All work, and no play could make me and Nathan pretty boring. Isn't that right?" His mouth
was full of food, so he held up his beer in a salute. She laughed. "Alright. When do you two start training?" "First thing
in the morning. That would leave our afternoon free. We can take the four-wheelers out to the beach." "Cool. Dune hopping!"
"It's set, then." "How many do you have," Nathan asked. "Two, so someone will have to double up." It was Nora's turn to give
Nathan a wicked grin.
The next day, Nora decided to make a project of Nathan. After what happened the day before, she wanted
to see how long it would take him to make a move on her, without having to dare him. She dressed in her bell-bottom jeans,
and T-shirt, with a bikini underneath. While Taker and Nathan practiced together, she went to the store and got drinks and
snacks to pack the cooler with. When she got back, she loaded up the four-wheelers on the trailer, and put the cooler and
fishing poles in the bed of the truck. Once that was done, she went to the backyard, and said, "all work and no play..." Taker
looked at her, and smiled. "Alright. Let's go. We'll get to the serious stuff tomorrow, man."
45 minutes later, they set foot on sand. "Those aren't waves," Nathan said. "I know. That's why we
aren't surfing. Those are only good for boogie boards," Nora said. She went to the back, to unload one of the four-wheelers.
"Who are you riding with? Me or my dad?" "Sneaky little bugger, aren't you?" "What do you mean," Nora said, innocently. He
made sure Taker couldn't hear him, before saying, "you know damn well I'd ride with you before I rode with your dad." "Do
I," she said, before starting it, and backing it down the ramp.
Taker got out of the truck, and said, "I'm going down to the little shop, to get some bait. Don't wait
for me, to go riding." Taker got on the four-wheeler she had just unloaded, and took off down the beach. She took the T-shirt
off, and unloaded the other one. "Well, are you coming?" Reluctantly, he got on behind her. "This is a little backwards, don't
you think," he asked. "I love driving these. You'll have to wait your turn. And, hold on tight." She put it in first gear,
and took off down the beach. The ATV jumped as she put it in second gear. When she finally got it in third, she headed for
the dunes. That's when he finally took her advice, and held on to her hips. The third dune they jumped left her sitting in
his lap, but she didn't slow down one bit.
After jumping the dunes for 30 minutes, she went back to the beach, so they could switch, and he could
drive. "You drive like a maniac." "Thank you," she said with a grin. "But, you're not as bad as I am," Nathan said. "You need
to hold on really tight." She wrapped her arms around him, and held on for dear life, as he came close to tipping them over
a few times. They had made it a few miles away from the truck, before he finally stopped. "Ok, you win. You're worse," Nora
laughed. Ignoring her comment, he turned around on the ATV. "I know what you are up to." "Oh, you do?" "Yes. I'm not sure
you want that, though." "Want you in bed? Want your hands all over me? Want you inside me? I think I do."
Nora slid her hands under his muscle shirt, up his hard stomach, and tight chest, until she was taking
his shirt off of him. "Are you going to say you don't want me?" He ran his hand up her side, until his thumb was able to rub
her nipple through the bikini top. "No, love." "Then what are we going to do," she said as she leaned toward him. "We can
work something out, but not right now. Your dad could come up on us any minute." "We wouldn't want that." "Let's head back,
before we both lose our cool," he said. "I'm driving," she said, before kissing him. He got off, and let her slide forward,
then climbed on behind her. This time, when he wrapped his arms around her, he took the weight of each breast in one of his
hands, and she leaned back against him. As they came close to the truck, they took a normal riding position.
"Did you have fun," Taker asked them. "Yep. Catch anything?" "Not yet." "Maybe I should chase the fish
to the bait," she laughed. "I'm going for a swim." She slid her jeans off, and hung them on the trailer, before walking to
the water. Nathan watched her, until she dove under the water.
"I'm glad we have a few moments alone," Taker said. "Why's that?" "Don't get any ideas about my daughter."
"What makes you think I would?" Taker grabbed his binoculars, and handed them to him. "I keep a very close eye on her." Nathan
looked Taker in the eyes. "I'm sorry, Taker. She's been flirting with me since yesterday, and she is very beautiful..." "She
is the exact replica of her mother, except the red in her hair, and the fact that she's six feet tall. That's why I'm worried.
Her mom was 19 when she had her. I don't want her to wind up like her mother." "No worries, Taker."
Taker's cell phone rang, and he answered it. "Hello." "Mark, I'm stuck at my mom's house. The Escalade
broke down." "Can you catch a flight home?" "My mom lives in the backwoods, and doesn't have a car. Besides, how would we
get the car home?" "Shit... I'll come get you. Nora, Nathan and I are at the beach right now. I'll drop them and the four-wheelers
off, and come get you and the baby." "Ok. I love you." "I love you, too, Sara." He closed his phone, and said, "shit!" "What's
wrong," Nathan asked. "Sara and the baby are stuck in Louisianna. I have to go get them. Will you load up the four-wheelers
while I get the poles, and Nora?" "Sure."
After everything was loaded, they took off. On the ride home, Taker said, "Nora, I had a talk with
Nathan, now I need to have one with you. I saw what you two were doing on the four-wheeler earlier. It's not gonna happen,
so just stop flirting with him. You're too young. I'd take you with me, just to be sure, but I'll probably wind up staying
the night, and I don't know if her mom has enough room for all of us." "Dad, don't worry about it. Nothing will happen." What
Taker couldn't see was that she had her fingers crossed in her lap. When Nathan turned to look at her, he saw it. "We'll be
on our best behavior, Taker," Nathan assured him.
An hour and a half later, Taker was running out the door. Nora met him on the porch. She gave him a
hug, and said, "be carefull, Daddy." "I will. You remember what I said about you and Nathan." "I will." "Bye, baby girl."
"Bye, Daddy." She stood on the porch, and watched as he left. Once the tail lights faded from sight, she went back inside.
Once the door was closed, Nathan trapped her against the door.
"Where were we earlier, love?" "Somewhere between dressed and naked." He pulled the tie string on her
bikini top. She unhooked the other set of strings, and let it fall to the floor. She slid her hands over his chest. "I guess
you were right. I haven't been with a man. Nobody I've been with had a body like your's." "You've only seen half of it, love."
Nora slid her hands down to his waist band, and unbuttoned his jeans. Not wanting to put on a show for the neighborhood, in
front of the curtainless windows, Nathan picked her up, and carried her to the guest room. He threw her on the bed. She laid
back on her elbows, and smiled at him.
He stalked up her body, until they were nose to nose. His intense eyes were dark with desire. Her eyes
closed as he lowered his lips to her neck, then down to her breasts. She ran her hand over his short nubs of hair, while he
squeezed and suckled her breasts. He moved further down, and stripped her of her jeans, and bikini bottoms. Nathan stood from
the bed, and stared at her, while he took off his jeans. He joined her back on the bed, and laid over her. He held her legs
back, toward her chest, with his arms. They both moaned, as he slowly slid into her tight hole. His thrusts were slow and
deep; building tension, more than releasing it. Nora slid her hands up his chest, to his neck, then let her thumbs glide along
his jaw. He moved his arms, allowing her to wrap her legs around his waist. "Oh, Nathan..." The moaning of his name from her
lips caused the loss of his grip on restraint. He picked up speed, and drove himself deeper inside her, while she bucked her
hips to meet him. It wasn't long before they were crying out together, as they reached Cloud-9.
Nathan collapsed on her, barely able to hold himself up on his elbows. Nora ran her hands over his
back, and leaned up to kiss his neck. "That was great," she said, panting for breath. Without breaking their contact, he grabbed
her hips, and rolled, so she was on top. He pushed her hair out of her face, and laid one big hand on her cheek. "You are
beautiful." He pulled her head down to lay on his chest. He grabbed the blankets, and covered them, then wrapped his arms
around her. They fell asleep, with him still inside her.
When Taker and Sara got home, he asked her to go check on Nora, while he took the bags to their room.
Sara went upstairs, and knocked on Nora's bedroom door. When she didn't get an answer, she cracked open the door. Upon seeing
the bed was empty, she opened it wider. She wasn't in there, or the adjoining bathroom. Sara went down stairs, and said, "she's
not up there." "What?" "She's not in her room. Her car's in the garage. Where could she be?" He looked behind the front door,
and saw Nora's bikini top. Pure anger washed over Taker's face. "I know where she is." He went to the guest room door, and
pounded on it. "Open this God damn door, now!"
The shock of waking up to her father pounding on the door, made Nora jump out of bed, and fall on the
floor. "Oh, shit!" she whispered. "What do we do?" Nathan shrugged. "Tell him the truth?" "Are you nuts!?" Taker pounded on
the door again. "Nathan, open this fucking door, or I will." "Do we have a choice," Nathan asked her. "Shit," she said, realizing
they didn't. A second later, the door swung open. "I knew it! I knew I couldn't trust you two." Taker made a bee-line for
Nathan. Nora wrapped the sheet around her body, and stood. "Stop it!" "No. I am your father, and you are my responsibility."
"And you need to realize that I'm not a little girl. I am old enough to do whatever I want with him, or any other man." "Yeah,
but you both gave me your word that nothing would happen. And, I don't want you to get mixed up with a wrestler." "Too bad,
and too late."
Nora sat on the bed next to Nathan, who was covered from the waist down by the blanket. She leaned
her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around her. Taker sighed in frustration. "So help me, if you got pregnant..."
"Then, I would marry her," Nathan said. Nora's head shot up. "You would?" "Yes, love." She laid her head back on his shoulder,
and he pulled her into a tight embrace.
Sara walked up behind Taker, and laid her hands on his upper arms. "We can talk about this when they
are dressed, and out of bed. Let's go start some coffee." She glanced at Nora and Nathan. "You two need to get dressed, now."
Sara and Taker left the room, and closed the door. Once they were in the kitchen, Sara turned to Taker, and said, "do you
realize that they are not much different than us?" "What do you mean?" "Age, for one thing." "I know, but it's my daughter,
this time." "How do you think my parents felt about us?" He sighed. "Probably like I'm feeling now." "Right." Taker ran his
hand over his face. "I hate it when you're right." "I love it when you admit I am," Sara said while smiling.
While then, Nathan got out of bed, and put on his jeans. "Did you mean what you said," Nora asked.
"About marrying you, if you got pregnant?" At her nod, he said, "yes, love. I've made my mistakes, but I am still an honorable
man." Nora slid out of bed, and wrapped her arms around his waist. He wrapped his around her shoulders, and kissed her forehead.
"Get dressed. Let's see how much trouble we're really in." "I don't have a shirt in here." He let her go, and went to his
bag, to get her a shirt to put on. She tied the muscle shirt at the small of her back, to make sure she stayed covered, then
slid her pants on. As they stood by the door, he held out his hand to her, and she took it. He kissed the back of her hand,
then gently kissed her lips. They laced their fingers together, as Nathan opened the door, and they went to the kitchen.
Taker had his back to them as they entered the room. He turned around, when he saw Sara looking at
them. He looked over his shoulder at them. He scowled when he saw their hands, until Sara cleared her throat. Taker sighed,
and turned to fully face them. "Look, I don't mind if you two want to see each other, fuck each other... Whatever. But, if
you hurt my daughter, Nathan, I will show you pain like you never dreamed of." "I don't intend to hurt Nora. I want to make
her happy." "Good. There's one more thing. I'll let you see my daughter... Hell, I'll even bring you home with me when we're
off the road, but the first time her grades slip, it ends. She's two months away from graduating. I want to see her do that
much." "No worries, mate." Nora gave Nathan a wide evil grin. "He can help me study."
Sara grinned at the three of them. Nathan and Nora, because they looked like they were ready to go
back to bed, but not for sleep. And Taker, because he could be such a softy, at times. She looked at her watch. "Tell ya what.
It's five in the morning. Why don't we all get some sleep?" Taker wrapped an arm around her shoulders, and she wrapped one
around his waist. Nora and Nathan lead the way out of the kitchen. As they past the stairs, to go to the guest room, Taker
said, "Nora, your bed. Nathan, guest bed." "Mark..." Sara said, in a warning tone. He growled at her, then said, "fine...
Whatever..." and headed up the stairs.
Nora stood at the bottom of the stairs, until her father was out of sight. Then, she turned to stand
in front of Nathan. "Round 2?" she said with a grin. "And 3... And 4..." He walked toward the bedroom, making her back towards
the door. Once in the room, she jumped into his arms, and they kissed while he kicked the door shut.
