Just a Girl

No spoiler this time. Just read. lol

I'm Just A Girl

by No Doubt

Take this pink ribbon off my eyes
I'm exposed
And it's no big surprise
Don't you think I know
Exactly where I stand
This world is forcing me
To hold your hand

'Cause I'm just a girl, little ol' me
Don't let me out of your sight
I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite
So don't let me have any rights
Oh ... I've had it up to here!

The men of the WWE... I understand that we're like a family, but I have more people watching my ass than I'd like. I had a simple date. Sounds normal, right? Wrong. Andrew and I agreed to go have a few drinks after the show. Somehow, word got around to J.R., who decided we needed a chaperone. When I asked him why, he said it was for my protection. "This is bullshit, JR. Why do I need someone to hold my hand while I have drinks with Test? It's not like he's going to attack me." "A lot of the guys don't trust him. Hell, I don't trust him." I sighed. "Who did you ask to go with us?" "I didn't have to ask anyone. I mentioned it to Jerry, and your chaperone, as you called him, overheard us. He volunteered for the job." "Who?" "Nash." "Oh, you have got to be fucking joking me." "Come on, Jade. If he does attack, or whatever, wouldn't you want somebody bigger than Test to put a hurtin' on him?" I growled in frustration. "He's buying his own drinks," I said before walking off.

The moment that I step outside
So many reasons
For me to run and hide
I can't do the little things
I hold so dear
'Cause it's all those little things
That I fear

'Cause I'm just a girl
I'd rather not be
'Cause they won't let me drive
Late at night
I'm just a girl

Guess I'm some kind of freak
'Cause they all sit and stare
With their eyes
I'm just a girl
Take a good look at me
Just your typical prototype
Oh... I've had it up to here I
Oh... am I making myself clear?

I stood outside the door, waiting for Andrew to come out. I was hoping Andrew would come out before Kevin, so we could sneak away without him. While I was waiting, Kevin came out. "Where's your date?" he asked. "Still inside. Where's your's?" "He'll meet us there." I looked over my shoulder at him. "Why Kevin, I never knew you were gay." "Shawn's going to follow us." "Us?" "I'm going with you two." "The hell you are!" "Don't we have an attitude." "I'm twenty-five, Kevin. I don't need a fucking chaperone." I turned around to face him. He blew a kiss and said, "I love you, too." "Why the hell did you volunteer for this? Did I do something to ruin one of your dates?" "No. I've seen him with Stacy before. I don't want him to treat you the way he did her."

I gave him a puzzled look, but before I could ask him what happened, the door opened. "Are you ready to go, babe?" Andrew asked. "Ready when you are." Kevin yelled, "shotgun!" While Kevin headed to the rental car, Andrew looked at me confused. "It's JR's doing. Not mine." "Well, let's go." "Can I drive?" I asked joking with him. "I don't trust a woman to drive at night." My jaw dropped as he headed toward the car. I felt like shoving my boot up his ass.

Once we got to the bar, I told Kevin to keep his distance. As we walked inside, the patrons sitting at the tables watched as I walked by. One was gawking so hard I turned around and flipped him off. Andrew laughed, and lead me to the bar. "You're a good looking woman. Men are always going to stare at you." "Yeah, but these dogs need to learn some manners." I turned around in time to see Kevin pushing the gawker back in his seat. "You're drooling," he told the man. I couldn't help but laugh.

I'm just a girl
I'm just a girl
In the world...
That's all that you'll let me be!

I'm just a girl, living in captivity
Your rule of thumb
Makes me worry some
I'm just a girl, what's my destiny?
What I've succumbed to
Is making me numb
I'm just a girl ... my apologies
What I've become is so burdensome
I'm just a girl, lucky me
Twiddle-dum there's no comparison

Oh...I've had it up to!
Oh...I've had it up to!
Oh...I've had it up to here

"So, why did JR send Kevin with us?" Andrew asked after our drinks came. "He thought I'd need some protection from you." "You do, but not that kind. You need the kind that comes in a little foil wrapper." "Is that the only reason you asked me out?" "No. Someday, maybe we can get married, then you can spend the rest of your days bare-foot and pregnant, the way a woman should be." He caught me off gaurd. "What the hell did you just say?" "That's how a woman should be." I slugged him. Within two seconds, someone was holding my arms behind my back, while Kevin held Andrew back. "You sexist fucking pig! Is that all a woman is good for? Taking care of the house, and making babies?" Half of the bar yelled, "yeah." I looked up at Kevin, and he smiled at me. "Shawn, let her go and step back," he said. Shawn let go of me, and stepped to the side. I pulled my foot back, and let Andrew have it in the nuts. Kevin let him go, and he fell at my feet in a heap. "I think I'm good for kicking your ass, too." The women in the bar started cheering. Kevin and Shawn started laughing, then held their arms out. "Come on, mistress. Let's get out of here." I took the arms they offered, and walked out the door with them.

Once outside, I yelled "shotgun!" "Come on, Jade. I can't fit in the back seat," Kevin said. We both looked at Shawn. He threw me the keys to the car. "I'd rather not be on the receiving end of that foot," he said. "Thanks, Shawn." After we left, I asked Kevin, "what was it that Andrew did to Stacy?" "He fed her the same line. She didn't fight back, though." "Well, thank you, guys. And, I suppose I owe you an apology, Kevin. I'm glad you were there. Just don't make it a habit of going on my dates with me." "I was kind of hoping I could." I turned to look at him as I stopped at a red light. "As your date, not a chaperone." I raised my eyebrow at him. "We'll see."

Once we were parked at the hotel, and standing around the car, Shawn said, "let me know if you need a chaperone." I tossed him the keys to the car. "Thanks, but no thanks." He laughed as he walked off to his room. Kevin met me at the back of the car. "May I walk you to your room?" I smiled at him. "I suppose so. You're the closest thing to a gentleman I've seen all night." He laughed as I took his elbow.

The walk to my room was quiet. Once we were at my door he turned to me, and grabbed my hands. "Will you think about going out with me sometime? Just once. If you don't like the way it goes, I won't bother you again." Before I could answer him, he softly kissed my lips. I was waiting to turn into a puddle on the floor, with the way he made me melt. As he nibbled my lower lip, I became putty in his hands. Without opening my eyes, I said, "one date, after the show tomorrow night." I opened my eyes and smiled at him. "That's one persuasive kiss you have." He smiled as he rubbed my cheek with his thumb. "Goodnight, Jade." "Goodnight, Kevin."

Waiting For Tonight

by J. Lo

Like a Movie Sense
in the sweetest dreams
I have pictured us together
now to feel your lips
on my fingertips
I have to say is even better
then I ever thought it could possibly be
its perfect, its passion, its setting me free
from all of my sadness
the tears that Ive cried
I have spent all of my life

Chorus
waiting for tonight, oh
when you would be here in my arms
waiting for tonight, oh
Ive dreamed of this love for so long
waiting for tonight

tender words to say
take my breath away
love me now, leave me never
found a sacred place
lost in you embrace
I want to stay in this forever
I think of the days when the sun used to set
on my empty heart, all alone in my bed
tossing and turning
emotions were strong
I knew I had to hold on

Chorus
waiting for tonight, oh
when you would be here in my arms
waiting for tonight, oh
Ive dreamed of this love for so long
waiting for tonight
waiting for tonight, oh
when you would be here in my arms
waiting for tonight, oh
Ive dreamed of this love for so long
waiting for tonight

gone are the days when the sun used to set
on my empty heart, all alone in my bed
tossing and turning
emotions were strong
I knew I had to hold on

Chorus
waiting for tonight, oh
when you would be here in my arms
waiting for tonight, oh
Ive dreamed of this love for so long
waiting for tonight, oh
when you would be here in my arms
waiting for tonight, oh
Ive dreamed of this love for so long
waiting for tonight, oh
when you would be here in my arms
waiting for tonight, oh
Ive dreamed of this love for so long
waiting for tonight, oh

That night, I dreamed of our date. Kevin and I were at a bar I'd never seen before, sitting in a cozy booth. We shared drinks, laughs... Then, he kissed me. My dream flashed forward from there, to the hotel. He held me tight against him, seducing me with his lips. As he picked me up, the phone rang. "Don't worry about it," he whispered. "But I have to." I awoke, but the phone was still ringing. I picked up the receiver from the cradle, and held it to my ear. "Hello," I mumbled. "It's your eight A.M. wake up call. The plane leaves at nine-forty five," Trish said. I groaned. "You just interrupted the most erotic dream I've had in a long time." "You can tell me about it on the plane." "No I can't." Her smile came through in her voice. "Then your stud must be on the flight, too." I laughed as I stretched. "Maybe." "Ew... Don't tell me it's Test." "No. He was another bad mistake." "Get up. Get going. You can tell me on the way to the airport." "Alright. Give me thirty minutes."

After we hung up, I jumped out of bed, and put on my clothes. After putting my make-up on, and making sure everything was in my bag, I went down to the lobby to meet Trish. "About time. Those guys have been eyeing me for fifteen minutes." "What do you expect? It's nearly a hundred degrees out, and you're wrapped up like it's winter." "Well, if we're spotted, we'll never get out of here." As I handed the room key to the man behind the counter, I told her, "then you shouldn't have worn the jacket with your name on the back." While I signed the paper for my credit card to be charged, she checked her jacket. "Damn you, Jade." As I was laughing at her, an arm went around my waist. "Good morning, Jade." I looked up over my shoulder. "Good morning, Kev." "Need a ride to the airport?" "No. I'm going with Trish." "Ok. Don't forget about tonight." "I won't."

After he let go of me, I grabbed Trish, and pushed her toward the door. "What was that about," she asked after we were outside. "We have a date after the show." "Really?" I nodded. "Was he the one from your dream?" I nodded again. "Well, things seem to be getting better." "I'm not saying that yet. Just because he's tall, dark, incredibly sexy, has an irresistible kiss and he saved me from Test last night, that doesn't mean he's my soul mate." "Whoa... Kiss? Saved you?" "Car first. He's coming out." As we neared the car, I noticed where she had parked after her date the night before.

"Geez, Trish... Couldn't you and Lance park somewhere else? Say somewhere away from where Kevin is going?" "Why are you avoiding him?" Before I could explain, I saw Shawn. "Hi, Shawn." "Hey, Jade. Have you seen Kevin?" "He's right behind us." "And loving the view," Kevin said. Trish opened the trunk, and we threw our bags in. When I turned around, Kevin was in front of me. "Are you sure you don't want to ride with us?" "I'm sure." "Ok. See you on the plane." He leaned down, and kissed me for a long moment. I grabbed his shirt with both hands, and leaned toward him, to keep from leaning back into the trunk. Trish cleared her throat. "Love-birds, we have a plane to catch." I released my grip on his shirt as he ended the kiss. I wiped my lipstick off of him, then he smiled at me, before he went to Shawn's car.

"Let's go, Jade!" I hadn't realized I was staring until Trish yelled. I got in the car, and we took off. "Ok, the kiss I have figured out. How did he save you from Test?" I explained about JR sending him with us on our date, and what happened. "He didn't really save me, but he kept Test from trying to hit me back. Kevin and Shawn took me back to the hotel. That's when he asked me out." "Now, why were you avoiding him?" "He... He makes me melt. It's almost scary. And, after the kiss a few minutes ago, my dream seems more like a preminition." "How far did you get in your dream?" "We would have had sex, if you wouldn't have called." "Do you want to go that far tonight?" I sighed. "Talking to you, I say no. But when it's just me and him, I'll probably say yes." "He must have one hell of a kiss." "You have no idea." "Ok, if you're worried about being near him, why are you going out with him?" "For the same reason. I haven't had a man make me feel like a woman in years."

That night, after Victoria beat me in a dark match, and Hunter sent his goons in after Kevin, there was a knock on the women's locker room door. I was about to go out the door, so I answered it. I saw who it was, and turned around to yell, "Trish, loverboy is waiting for you." "I'll be there in a minute." "Give her a minute, Lance." "Thanks, Jade." I stepped passed him, and went to Kev's dressing room. I took a deep breath before reaching up to knock. Before I hit the door, someone tapped me on the shoulder. "I was just coming for you," Kevin said. With my mind in the gutter, I said, "excuse me?" "I was on my way to get you from the locker room." I smiled, and felt the heat rise in my cheeks. "Oh." I turned to face him. He laid his hand on my cheek, and asked, "are you ok?" "Uh... yeah." "You seem a bit nervous." "I'm fine." 'I just have butterflies in my stomach at the thought of being alone with you,' I thought to myself. "Are you ready?" "Yeah." He laid his hand at the small of my back. The simple touch sent shivers down my spine. "Are you cold?" 'No.' "Uh... Yes." His arm went around my shoulders. 'Oh, hell...'

Once our bags were in the trunk, and we were in the car, he asked, "what do you want to do?" "I'm open to suggestions." "Are you hungry?" "No. What about drinks?" "Alright, but I don't drink much anymore." "We can think of something else while we're there." "Or, we can drive around, and find a place to park." "What?" "You know. Some place to go." "Oh." "You're kinda jumpy." "It's nothing. I think I just had too much caffiene." He started the car, and wove his way through the parking lot. Before pulling out of the lot, he asked, "which way?" I looked both ways, before saying, "left."

After ridng for awhile in silence, he pulled into an empty parking lot. He shut off the engine, then turned to me. "Ok, what's wrong?" "Nothing." "Look me in the eyes, and tell me that. Usually you can't go five minutes without saying some kind of smart ass comment. Tell me I can't kiss. Tell me I need to shave. Tell me my hair is brighter than the headlights. Anything." "You're a wonderful kisser, if you shave the goatee, I'll strangle you, but you do need to dye your hair black again." "Ok, we're getting somewhere. I'm worried about you. You've been avoiding me, and you've been quiet. That's uncharacteristic of you." I let out a sigh. "I've never been nervous about a date in my life. I've always gone with a calm, cool facade, and inside keeping an eye out for any wrong move." I looked him in the eyes. "Tonight, I'm nervous. If you made any of the wrong moves, I don't think I'd be strong enough to tell you no." He picked up my hand, and kissed the pads of my fingers. "You need to relax. I won't do anything to hurt you in any way." He leaned toward me, and softly claimed my lips. "If I do anything you don't want me to, just tell me," he said, before kissing me again. This time, his tongue slid between my lips, and I greeted it warmly. He slowly ended the kiss. I laid my forehead on his shoulder, and he kissed my neck. "Anything you want me to do, I'll do it for you," he whispered.

I raised my head from his shoulder, and stared into his eyes. Our noses were less than an inch away from each other. "Kevin..." "Yeah, Jade?" "I... I... I need some air." I opened the car door, and got out, slamming the door behind me. I leaned against the car, and closed my eyes, deeply inhaling the night air. I heard the driver's door open, and felt the car's weight shifting as he got out. "Please, stay there, Kevin." "What did I do?" "Nothing. We're just getting to hot on our first date." "Some relationships start that way." "So do one-night-stands." He stood in front of me, and grabbed my hands. I opened my eyes, as he pulled my hands up. "You could leave me in the morning, but that's a risk I'm willing to take." He pulled them closer to his lips, but stopped an inch away. "Besides, I didn't bring up sex. You did." He kissed my knuckles, then brought our hands back down to our sides. I laughed. When he let go of my hands, I laid them on his chest, and pushed him back. "Damn, you're mushy." I opened the door, and got in the car. He laughed as he walked around to the driver's side. After he got in, he asked, "do you want to call it a night?" "I'm not quite ready. Why don't we go to the bar at the hotel?"

Thirty minutes later, as we sat in a booth, waiting for our drinks, he asked, "why were you hell bent on getting alcohol in you?" "To calm my nerves. I knew I'd be ok, if I could just get over the nervousness." "Listen, I'm sorry if I spooked you when I kissed you." "There's no need to apologize. I enjoyed it. I just enjoyed it a bit too much." "You can't enjoy something too much." "Explain stomach aches from too much candy." He chuckled. "Ok, but something like a kiss, it's impossible." I decided not to argue any further. The waitress came by, and gave us our drinks. I knocked back the shot of J.D., and chased it with Jack and coke. I sat back and smiled as the warmth of the alcohol went down, and pooled in my stomach. "Feeling better?" "Starting to." "So, if I touch you, you won't freak out?" I laughed. "No." "And, if I kiss you?" "I haven't had enough alcohol yet." I finished the mixed drink, and called the waitress over to order another shot and mix.

"You're not going to get drunk on me, are you?" "No. This next set is my last." When the waitress returned, before she set down my mixed drink, I had the shot trickling down my throat. The waitress left, shaking her head. "And, now?" I motioned for him to lean closer. I met him in the middle, and kissed him. "I'm feeling much better." I kissed him again, before saying, "scoot over." I got up, and went around the table to sit next to him. "I'm sorry about freaking out. I had a dream about us last night, and I guess it scared me how close we got in it." "How did I look naked?" I laughed. "We didn't get that far. Trish woke me up, before you could take me to the bed." He laughed. "Like I said, we don't have to go there tonight." "That's not it. It's the fact that I want to." He looked down at me. "Are you sure? I mean, it's not the alcohol talking, is it?" "No, Kevin." I kissed him. "I want you to make love to me." He wrapped his arms around me, and kissed me. "Your room, or mine?" "Mine."
