One revolution around the sun
The planet earth now has done.
The moon has waxed and it has waned.
Our lives never to be the same.
We've lit our candles and our tears cried.
Seen the Pit's dark horror from inside.
Two beams of light have scraped the sky.
Some dead were found, others not…why?
A year from yesterday, near yet far.
We stand between the candle and the star.
Our ceremonies call this chapter to an end.
Into another year our prayers we send.
We now must choose: Hope or terror's fright.
On the edge of the abyss -
into the darkness or into the light.
