It pulls, like gravity on a launched rocket,
This grief that defines our days.
Time has passed: hours, days, months,
years
Yet the weight of loss increases.
You are not here, will never be here
Eternal tears, washing over infinite
grief.
Ten years is a milestone but without you
Time has become a millstone
Dragging down the heart,
Weighing down
living with the darkness of sorrow.
It’s been 3652 days of mourning our invisible love ones.
Heavy is each step towards a new tomorrow.
Living
has become a balance
Between reliving a tragedy
And hoping for the burden to be lifted.
The bronze that holds your name does not lighten the load.
The waterfall, falls to the center
Of the footprints
that once held your footprint.
You still walk among us as angels lighter than air.
As sunlight falls to earth caressing
this sacred space.
