Josh Loves Cake!

Well we already knew that, but we have some more stories that confirm it further!  One day Kel was feeling domestic and decided to make muffins.  Of course they had to taste test one each before I got home from work, so Josh had one on his plate and was sitting in the lounge room to eat it.  Kel came onto the computer while he ate his.  When Kel went back out to the kitchen he found Josh with a whole plate of muffins, and he was making his way back to the lounge room with the last one.  Not only had he grabbed all the muffins one by one off the bench and put them onto his plate... he had taken a bite out of each one as well!!

The second story was last weekend when we were on our way to Brandon's birthday afternoon tea.  As soon as we said it was Brandon's birthday, he said "Cake?"  That was all he was worried about!  So he has it all worked out that Birthdays = Cake!

We also had some interesting experiences with Lamingtons!!! Gee those things can get very messy...  I don't think I need to say much more!

More Words!

Light, Mummy, Daddy, wait, cream, Woo (for Aunty Lou), Hay (for Hayley), B (for Brandon), 'No Not Right' (when something isn't right), red, away, 'where gone?', eat, 'watch out', night, 'ABC', '1, 2, 3', 'red car'.

He can now count to three, and knows the colours red, blue and green.  I think he knows a few others but can't say them yet.

Bed Time... continued!

The transition to the bed has gone pretty well.  We have had our ups and downs though.  One night I put Josh to bed and I forgot to take the light globe out, so 5 minutes later the light was on.  I was about to go in there and yell at him but when I opened the door he was sitting up in bed reading a Thomas book... I could hardly yell at him for that now could I?  So I took the light globe out, left on the lamp and laid him down again.  Later that night when we went to check on him I found him asleep with the book over his face!  He had gotten up again, grabbed the book, gone back to bed and read it til he fell asleep, in the dim light of the Thomas lamp!  So cute!

On the other hand, day sleeps have become a bit of a nightmare lately.  Sometimes he takes all the blankets and pillow off the bed and ends up falling alseep on the floor.  Yesterday was the worst... he ended up pulling the border off the wall above his bed and screwing it up.  It also took some of the paint with it.  And he had taken off his pants, ripped one of his books and opened the wardrobe and pulled stuff out of there.  I was so mad.  I am still deciding whether it is worth putting the border back up or not.  Looking in his old room I remember that he did the same thing in there, except at least the paint didn't come off that time.

To end this story on a good note, each night me and Josh have been reading a Thomas book, and now he knows some of the words before I say them.  And now that it is darker at night we can go and say goodnight to the moon and the stars (when it isn't too cloudy).
