Toilet Training!

We are almost there.  Almost out of the terrible twos!  And we have come so far even in the last month.  Our biggest news is that Josh is fully toilet trained during the day now.  I can hardly remember how it happened exactly… I think we just took the plunge and put him in jocks.  I kept a chart on the toilet door and every time he went to the toilet I would draw a picture and write down the time (to remind us how long it had been since the last time).  It wasn’t long before he was going whole days with no accidents.  Now he will get up in the morning and go to the toilet by himself.  If we are down the shops he will tell us when he needs to go. And he is pretty good at holding on, especially if we are in the car at the time.  The biggest achievement – and most exciting for us – was when he started doing poos in the toilet   I am so excited that he is out of nappies during the day.  Nighttime is the next step, but I’m not in any hurry for that to happen.

Jester

Here is a photo of Josh dressed up as a Jester.  This was taken at the Imagination Café in Melton where we had our Mother’s Group Christmas breakup.  Josh had a ball there!  And when it came time to go home he gave big pashes to all the girls!  He even tilted his head and held onto them!!!

And the photo on the side is Josh playing in the mud in the backyard!  Don't tell the water restriction people though(!)

Mad

A new name that Josh has made up for Kel is Mad.  It is a mixed up version of Mum & Dad.  “He has also told us a few times that he would like to be called Joshua!!!  We will say something like “Come here Josh” and he will say “No, Joshua”.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Josh is really getting into Christmas this year.  It is great!  It started with a trip to the local shopping centre where Santa arrived on Thomas the Tank Engine!!!  Josh was so excited!  I kept saying “Santa is coming soon” and he would reply “And Thomas?”.  He was just so excited about Thomas, he didn’t really care too much for Santa.  He even got to ride on Thomas three times that day.  The problem was that any other time we said anything about Santa he would ask is Thomas was going to be there too.

He has also gotten into the spririt by learning to sing Jingle Bells!  Though it did start off as Jingy Boys, then Jingy Bells, and finally Jingle Bells.  Click on this link to hear Josh’s latest version of Jingle Bells… or should I call it Twinkle Bells? http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y74/traceandkel/?action=view&current=MOV03253.flv
