Words!

Josh finally had his two year old assessment at the health centre this month (just a little bit too late!).  He weighed in at 18.6kg and 98cm tall.

The nurse was very impressed with Josh, but we do have to work on his words.  He gets lazy and drops the first letter on some words, like: place, please, pot, paper, good, bus, money, that, thanks, spoon, eat (he adds a letter to that one so it sounds like wheat), honey, fix, foot.

We have started to get a bit stricter and make him repeat the word properly.  He is already getting better at the P words, but it is really hard to show him how to saw Fwithout him spitting all over the place!

Bad Dreams

Josh has started having bad dreams lately.  Last night we woke to Josh screaming.  Kel went into his room and Josh told him all about how he was stuck and couldn't get out.  The other morning he had a dream that he lost his Krispy Kreme hat down the side of the bed.  He wanted me to get it out, but when I looked it wasn't there.  The day before he nearly lost the hat when the wind blew it onto the road... luckily Mummy saved the hat!

The Zoo

We did another zoo trip (really trying to get the most out of our yearly zoo pass).  Josh really loved the giraffes this time (and he can say giraffe now).  We saw the new baby elephants and the new chimpanzee enclosure.  Another favourite is the reptile house where he loves the snakes and lizards.

He still loves Trains
Here is a picture of Josh playing with his train set.  I can't believe that he STILL loves Thomas and trains.  He knows all the train names now, and their numbers.  His favourites are Thomas, Toby, Gordon, Diesel and Cranky the Crane.  He loves building bridges and tunnels now.

Green Sheep
Where is the Green Sheep?  That is what I was wondering when I started reading this library book.  Then Josh lost interest and I didn't feel right reading the book without him, so I waited a whole day to find out where that green sheep was!  It was driving me crazy!  Then we read the book again the next day and boy the tension builds up.  We hear about all these other sheep, but where is the green sheep?  We do eventually find the green sheep at the end of the book.  Josh loves this book, and we read it so much that he can actually read it to me now!  Unfortunately this was a library book and has now gone back.  I just found this website from the author and it says how it took her two years to write that book!  Unbelievable!
