Tips:
1. To switch your browser preference
Go to: preferences /connection/edit launch list

2. LOOK FOR THE BOOKMARK
Most bookmark files get so large that you lose track of what they contain.
To find a long lost or misplaced bookmark,
press Ctrl-B to open the Bookmarks file and press Ctrl-F to bring up the Find Bookmark box.
Enter the word, phrase, or URL that you want to search for in the Find field,
then select the search criteria. As you see, you can search for the name, location, or description
(you can choose any or all), and you can match the case or the whole word (you don't have to select either).
Click OK, and Communicatorhighlights the first bookmark that matches your search
or tells you that no file was found. Note also that you can use Ctrl-G to Find Again.

3. Your ICQ program doesn't alter your Netscape bookmarks.
The URLs saved in ICQ are totally separate from your Bookmark file in Netscape
although when the Bookmaork list from ICQ loads it will load in your
default browser which sounds like Netscape in your case.
Here's how to find both bookmark files: In Netscape: Start/Programs/Windows Explorer/choose which drive your Netscape files
are stored on then choose Program Files/Netscape/Users/your user name/bookmark.htm
To find ICQ bookmarks file follow the same process except choose:
ICQ/Bookmarks and you will find a whole list of HTML files....one for each nick that has ever sent you a URL via ICQ and you saved it.
4. You can't attach urls to messages using the message feature unless you just
include the url in the message itself. However, you can send urls to multiple
nicks by choosing the URL feature and select "More" from the bottom of that window.
To send Files to multiple nicks you're going to have to do it one nick at a time,
I see no feature that allows a file to be sent to multiple nicks.

5. To switch browsers: Try this but be very careful when doing so. You need to set your file associations
for your HTML files to Netscape since you don't want them to load in IE.
The following should give you what you are wanting, I hope! : )
Follow it step by step please:
Choose any HTML file on your hard drive.........and highlight it
Hold down the Shift key and RIGHT click your mouse then let the Shift key up.
This action should bring up a window with a menu.
CHOOSE "Open With" This action will bring up another window with more choices.
Scroll down the menu until you see NETSCAPE.
Highlight NETSCAPE and locate the little box elow the menu window.
It is a blank box with the statement "Always use this program to open this type of file".
Make sure you check this box. Then hit OK. You're done.
Now, what you have just done is tell Windows to open all HTML files with Netscape. This should take care of the problem.
6. Just was into IE4. A place I don't frequent except to view URLs from email and happened to hit Favorites.
Went to 'From ICQ' folder and an entry at the bottom of the list caught my eye. 'ICQ incoming bookmarks'. I don't recall seeing this before(Shows you how often I go here).
It is a list of who the bookmarks are from and when the last one was. Clicking on a nick took me to a list of all the bookmarks I have saved from them.
I had never done this in IE before. I usually just go to the url from inside ICQ.

This is where I am at in my migration project.
I want to track migration due to the establishment of Catholicism in Ireland. I have been reading alot in old books that are crumbling in my hands.
I am even having a problem making copies of the pages. I am also looking at timelines and biblical data.
I am finding alot of places to search from Cyndis list.
I only have notes and nothing is tied together yet.

This is where I am at in my EO UK Kilt Quest -Kwesters group:
I am trying to track the migration of my great grand father THOMAS BI(u)RMINGHAM.
I only know that he was in America in 1876. And he came out of Ireland in the kingdom of Great Britain.
I am simply making a list of the path I take in my searches. The URL and a brief description of what was there. And what I found useful for myself(nothing yet).
I am not a very organized person and these classes with you Marthe has helped me become more-so. But I am still trying to get it all together.And trying to get UFT going.(Finally got UFT u/l Now need to get all info added.)
I am finding that I don't feel like I am accomplishing much after all the hours I search but I am finding it very interesting.

Tips:A CHANGE IS COMING What's the point of opening a site if it's the same as it was the last time you visited?
Communicator allows you to see if any of your bookmarked sites contain new information before you open them.
To find out the update story, press Ctrl-B to open your bookmark file and select View,
Update Bookmarks, which opens the What's New? box.
Check either All Bookmarks or Selected Bookmarks (in the latter case, highlight your selections before opening the What's New? box),
then click Start Checking. Communicator searches the sites and indicates which, if any,
have changed since the last time you visited.
A NEW VIEW Communicator offers a variety of ways to view the contents of your Bookmarks.
To get a new view,open the bookmarks file (Ctrl-B) and choose View from the Communicator menu.
As you can see, you can select the view that you want: By Name, By Location, By Created On, or By Last Visited.
Once you make the view choice, the bookmark file immediately reorganizes itself.
If you have bookmarks in folders, they get organized within the folder in the manner you selected.
