Location: It's downstairs, behind the door with a blank star.

Required: You need to get the basement key, which you have to beat the first Bowser to get, which requires 8 stars.

Recommended: Nothing

Information: Hazy Maze Cave is, of course, a maze. The hazy part is in the green moss caves. You get hazy if you don't get the metal cap on. In this course, you can get the metal cap power. Just follow the sea monster to the small metal pool. Just be careful not to get sucked by the current in the cap-switch stage. I hope you have hand-eye co-ordination, 'cause you'll have to swing on narrow paths of monkey bars to get a star.

Star #	Objective	Picture
1	SWIMMING BEAST IN THE CAVERN: You'll start at a fork. Take the left path. Follow the path to a metal door behind where the boulders fall. Hop onto the elevator. The music will change, that means that you're near a pool with a sea monster in it. Swim to the monster and butt-stomp its back. She'll lower its head for you to hitch a ride. You have to stand on a certain place on her head to steer her. Steer her to the island in the middle of the lake. The star is on the island.
2	ELEVATE FOR 8 RED COINS: It's red coin time!!! Take the right path and slide down the pole behind the door. Go around the cliff and the blue object. Now use the wall and the object to wall kick your way to the top of the cliff. Climb up the pole and hitch a ride on the checkered platform. Ignore the incoming block and get the first coin. Continue and jump over the floating ledge to get the second one. Dodge the next ledge. Continue on the platform. Jump off it and onto a floating island. The coin is on the island. It is also on the ledge. Jump off the island and hop on the platform with the buttons. Steer your way around the main chamber. Hit the block nearby. Steer your way to the next block and break it. Keep going and dodge the linear structure and hit the block there. Steer to the corner nearby and jump on it. Walk towards the center of the main chamber(on the ground).
3	METAL-HEAD MARIO CAN MOVE!: You need Metal Mario for this one. Go to the underground lake with Nessie. First hit the green box to get the cap. Then run towards the lake. Keep following the brown dirt path underwater. Stand on the ! switch underwater and the gates will open. Rise up and go through the door. Long jump over the pits and avoid the spiders. At the end of the jumping, there's the power star.
4	NAVIGATING THE TOXIC MAZE: This is a sinch. DO NOT navigate through the maze. It takes a longer time. Go left from the start. At the last turn to where the gap of bottomless pit is, stand by the right-hand wall. Run toward the gap and side flip and wall kick through the bottom of the red caging. Double jump to hang on to the cage. Climb toward the right-hand path to the fourth star on a platform.
5	A-MAZE-ING EMERGENCY EXIT: Go through the right-hand path to the main chamber. Go into the middle hallway on the left wall to a hole in a ground. Drop down and immediately go toward the metal cap. Put it on and go to your first left turn. Continue on the path until you kill another sniffit. There's a path of sludge on the wall, from a door. Backflip onto the entrance. Follow the path and up the elevator. The star will be surprised that you found it.
6	WATCH FOR ROLLING ROCKS: A hidden star? Go to the metal door behind where the boulders fall. But don't go through it. Instead, wall kick form wall to wall. You'll land on a secret ledge. The star is on lower one of the two ledges.
7	Coins = 138 It may be a little difficult. Only a patient Mario-gamer can get the seventh star. All of the coins are scattered about throughout the winding passageways.
