1c dates
1/2 c water
Bring to a boil and cook until soft stirring often. (15 mins approx) Set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Crumb mixture:
Blend: 1 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
Cut in: 1 c butter
Blend in 1 c lightly packed brown sugar
2 c rolled oats
Press 1/2 of crumb mixture over bottom of pan. Cover with cooled dates. Then cover with remaining crumbs and pat smooth.
Bake 35 mins. COOL before cutting.
