To make meatballs:
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/4 c rolled oats
salt and pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder (or 1 small onion, diced very small)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp water
Mix and roll in balls.
Bake 325 degrees for 30 minutes uncovered and single layered.
Move to casserole dish and continue with recipe for sauce.
This is my friend Sharon's recipe among many delicious ones she has given me over the years.
*1/4 c green/red peppers, diced very small
*1/2 tsp savory or thyme
this combination with all other ingredients makes for a nice meatball also.
